The number of camels in Kazakhstan by December 1 was slightly less than a month ago. According to the Statistics Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as of November 1, 193.6 thousand heads of camels were kept in Kazakhstan, and by November 1, 190.6 thousand heads. As a result, in November the camel population decreased by 3 thousand heads, or by 1.5 %.

We recall, the maximum number of camels this year was in June and July - 205.8 and 205.4 thousand heads respectively. Then the number of these animals gradually decreased. By August, it decreased to 198.6 thousand heads, by September 1 to 197.5 thousand heads, and by October 1 to 195.3 thousand heads.

In November, the camel population decreased unevenly region-wise, in six of them it remained at the same level, mainly in areas with a relatively small herd, reports the IA “Kazakh-Zerno”. And in the North-Kazakhstan region, statisticians did not fixed presence of camels. In the remaining seven regions, the livestock population decreased from one to seven hundred of these animals. The biggest reduction of camels, as well as in the last month, was fixed in Mangistau region, which has the largest herd of these animals - from 55.8 thousand heads in November to 55.1 thousand heads in December or by 0.7 thousand heads, by 1.3%.

As in the previous month, camel population in early November is higher than last year. As of December 1, 2016, the number of camels in Kazakhstan was at the level of 176.8 thousand heads. As of December 1, 2017, 190.6 thousand heads of camels were kept in the farms and by local population. As a result, the difference between 2016 and 2017 was 13.8 thousand heads or 7.9% in favour of the current year.
