By December 1, for November, the number of pigs in Kazakhstan was decreasing at a higher rate in absolute and relative terms than in the previous month. In October, the number of these animals decreased by 39.9 thousand heads or by 4.2%. According to the Statistics Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as of November 1, 915,600 pigs were registered in the farms of the Republic, and as of December 1, 864,100 heads. As a result, the number of these animals decreased by 51.5 thousand heads or by 5.6%.

In terms of separate regions, the number of pigs increased only in two regions - in the Aktobe region - by 2.9 thousand to 49.6 thousand, and in Kyzylorda - by 0.2 thousand to 2.1 thousand. In two other regions with the smallest number of pigs in the republic, their number did not change. These are Atyrau region with a population of 0.5 thousand and Mangistau region - 0.1 thousand.

The most significant decline in livestock population happened in November in Kostanay region - by 18.4 thousand heads to 175.1 thousand heads, in the North Kazakhstan - by 8.7 thousand heads to 166.5 thousand heads, in Almaty region - by 6.5 thousand heads to 81 thousand heads, - reports the IA “Kazakh-Zerno.”

The largest number of pigs in the number of more than 100 thousand heads is located in three regions of the republic. These are Kostanay region - 175.1 thousand heads, the North Kazakhstan - 166.5 thousand heads, Akmola region - 118.8 thousand heads. Together in these regions 460.4 thousand heads or 53.3% of the total republican population are kept.

As of December 1, the annual difference in the number of pigs compared to the previous year remained negative. As it was already reported, as of September 1, 2017, the number of pigs in the republic was less by 24.4 thousand heads and decreased from 971.5 last year to 947.1 thousand heads this year. In October, the difference decreased, but remained significant - 975.2 thousand goals in 2016 against 955.5 thousand goals in 2017 or less by 19.7 thousand. As of November 1, the ratio was 17.6 thousand heads - 933.2 thousand heads in 2016 and 915.6 thousand heads in 2017. On December 1, the difference in favour of last year was at the level of 13.2 thousand heads.
